Arboretum of the Fourneau Saint-Michel

The arboreta were established on the initiative of King Leopold II to observe the ability of the exotic species to adapt to our climatic and soil conditions. The Arboretum of Saint-Hubert was created in 1899 and covers an area of 5 acres (2ha). Amongst the most remarkable varieties can be found the Douglas, Grand Fir, the Great Fir, the Western Hemlock end the Japanese Larch. The arboretum is divided into 86 plots containing one or more variety.
