Notre-Dame church of Beauraing
The Church of Our Lady of Beauraing, built in 1955, is the work of the architects Dislaire and Lamarche. At its foot, a stone bears the date of its construction as well as a Latin text: "Happy that with her golden heart she makes hearts flutter". The original building, dedicated to Saint Gertrude, was officially replaced in 1957 and is a few hundred metres away. When the building was moved, the three existing bells followed and found a place in the new tower. Well hidden between the walls, the bells of Tenneville are nevertheless witnesses to the life of an entire population and to the evolution of the world. Although invisible, they are also an important symbol for the inhabitants. How many villagers here and elsewhere have not mourned "their" bells, which were taken away during the Second World War? And what joy when they found them again. Invisible witnesses, symbols of solidarity. On the edge of the N4, Marie Immaculée, Sainte-Gertrude, Saint-Donat and Saint-Roch, for those are their first names, are still watching us...Next to the church, on the town square, the monument to the flame of hope is decorated with flowers on each anniversary of the armistice.
