Guided tour of the town of Marche

The guided tour for groups will lead you to the historical city centre of Marche-en-Famenne. The charming town of Marche has been remarkably well-renovated while preserving many witnesses to its past. Some of its buildings date back to the 16th c. and it's a real pleasure to walk into the narrow streets. Its many fountains, sculptures and murals, its shady squares and places to relax, as well as its pedestrian streets contribute to a sense of well-being. It is therefore not a coincidence that the city of Marche was selected as winner of the European competition EDEN 'European Destinations of Excellence' in 2011. The theme was the 'rehabilitation of physical sites.' Among others are some of the sites highlighted: the Tower of Juniesse, the Maison Jadot (Famenne Museum), the Carmelites, the castle Van der Straten (town hall), the Manor House (hotel and restaurant) , the former corn exchange (restaurant), the former Jesuit church (hotel and restaurant) ...
