Monument of the "Maquis" (1944)

This impressive memorial that has been erected on a rock in the Rancenne valley, reminds of a tragical episode of the Second World War. On September 1st 1944, a few days before the Allies arrived, some members of the Resistance who were hidden in the woods were circled by about one thousand German soldiers.
