The Fountain of Eyes

This crystalline spring is reputed to have astonishing virtues against sight disorders, and it is generally believed that the cures obtained are due to the barégine it contains. Barégine is a nitrogenous organic substance found in thermal waters, particularly in the waters of Barèges (Hautes-Pyrénées).
