The hunter's beech

This remarkable beech is located at the top of the Etang de Chawion: a site of biological interest, with numerous amphibians and insects in the surrounding wetland. The pond is closely linked to the meadows and the specific biotope present. There are several walks around the pond. Chawion, which comes from the old Walloon tchaver, which has its roots in the Latin cavare, means "sunken path".
